We are kept from our highest goals by a clearer, easier path to lesser goals. To do great things, we don’t so much find time as we re-allocate time. You may not think of social media as your priority or something you are “committed” to but if that is where you invest your time and energy, then, yep, that is your priority and that is what you are committed to.
Without a vision and commitment, we default to lesser priorities and thus fritter away the greatness that we contain. Lacking clarity on ultimate goals, we drift. Failing to take the time to reflect, ponder, and seek out and develop the hidden potential lying untapped within, we pursue the insignificant that lies in plain sight and easy reach. To truly commit to becoming your best self, you must de-commit to lesser things.
To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice your gift. I urge you to give your all, do your best to walk your highest path, daily growing and giving. Seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened… if you are willing to do the work, day in and day out. As the famous philosopher Jim Carey said: “You can’t just visualize and then go eat a sandwich.”
