What we focus on expands, thoughts held in mind attract in kind, and energy flows where attention goes. Where are your thoughts taking you? More than once, I’ve found myself overly emotionally engaged with the difficulties of achieving a goal, talking myself out of even really trying. Yes, ME! Mr. Task Oriented, the Ultimate Goal Lover himself!

In case you are wondering, the goal here is writing a book. Okay, a second book. Decades ago I wrote a textbook on development for John Wiley & Sons and still get the occasional royalty check. Since then? Crickets! Yes, I do love the short form (blogs, I’ve written more than 2,000) far more than the long form, which requires much more sustained organizational effort, not necessarily the strong suit of someone with symptoms of Attention Deficit, Hyper Activity… oops, is that a bit of ‘argue for your weakness and it is yours’?

Well, as my granddad said: “The only thing standing between you and your dreams is the will to try.”
